back to the daily grind and a little tv randomness

ugh i had to go back to work today. it was fun until about 3pm, then i hit a wall and i just wanted to take a nap :)

lyla is doing really well, she and riley are getting along great. i'm planning on making her a new bed this weekend, she keeps stealing riley's.  and this is what he thinks about that:

did y'all watch breaking bad last night? i swear, i basically had 2 heart attacks and peed my pants in the first 30 minutes. it is ripping my heart out.

if you don't watch breaking bad (i'm sorry but you really need to get with it!) do you watch sons of anarchy? it's one of the shows that got me through marathon training last year and the new season premiered last week. the whole episode made me sick. i wanted to punch jax (the main character) in his manly parts. what a jerk.

what's your must watch tv show? there are only 2 episodes of breaking bad left and i'm pretty sure i'm going to cry... and on another note, i watch WAY too much TV.

Get on the ball...

Thanks for all the support about the Zumba post... I was very hesitant to post, because I try not to be judgemental... But that bee-otch had it coming. [Let it go already, right?] Moving on.

I'm way behind in the blog world because I've been trying to get my life in order before we go on vacation!!!! So freaking excited. This is what my suitcase looks like currently:
Yeah, and we leave Monday AM. Which would be totally fine except I work 12 hours tomorrow. Might want to get on that.

Speaking of work, everyday we get these things called credentials. They change daily, but they're basically your signature for that day. I scan them when I'm checking prescriptions, printing labels, blah, blah, blah. Mine were pretty awesome today:

Nice, right?

Small Predicament

Yesterday I did a 4 mile tempo run at the gym. This was my first ever tempo run, and I did a mile at 5.5, two at 6.0, and another at 5.5. I know these aren't blow you away fast times, but for me, running more than a mile at anything above 5.5 is a big win. I might have sweat a little.

I think I've mentioned it before, but my face turns beet red anytime I work up a sweat. Super attractive, I know. Does this happen to anyone else?

After the gym I ran home to shower immediately went on a secret mission. I'll share later today, when I have lots of pics! Then I actually did shower, and had to head to work for about an hour and a half for my yearly evaluation (yikes! stuff like this stressesmeoutsomuch!) But it went really well, and I'm glad it's over. I don't know why I let stuff like that stress me out, but oh well.

So back to my predicament. I was supposed to do my tempo run on Wednesday, but I worked 12 hours on Wed and Thurs (I don't usually run when I have to work a 12 hour shift). So I pushed it to Friday. Today is supposed to be my long run. Do I do it today? I'm thinking yes. What do you think?

Does it bother you when you don't follow your training plan exactly? Yes but it's something I'm working on this time around!

Do work evaluations stress you out too?

working on holiday weekends is for the birds

Today sucked. Every drug addict within 50 miles decided to swing by my store today. Let me just tell you, dealing with the public is one thing. Dealing with the public on drugs is a whole nother ballgame. I have NEVER. I can't make this stuff up. I don't want to turn this blog into my work bitchfest, so let's just leave it at this, it was a stressful day.

What did I do to de-stress? Signed up for races! I signed up for a 5K at my church on June 11th. The proceeds go to an orphanage in Haiti. It's part of their VBS week. I also signed up for the Firecracker 10K that is of course, on the 4th of July. The race is a 8am (I signed up thinking it was 8pm) and I'm supposed to work 8-4 that day. Here's hoping I can switch, if not I'm out 30 bucks. And speaking of 30 bucks, why is it more money to run the 10K when you don't get anything else? The 5K racers get the same stuff. Someone enlighten me.

I have a couple more days to pick a race for next weekend. I'm either doing nothing or a 9K. Hmm.
