today i'm celebrating my thirtieth birthday... yikes. i could probably write some big thing about how i feel about this milestone birthday, but that would require me to actually know how i feel about it. i'm running a 30k next weekend to celebrate and i'm sure i'll have plenty of time to figure that out then.
so until then, i'm soaking up the day and slathering on my anti-wrinkle cream.

ReplyDeleteJust found your blog from searching for more info on the strawberry plains race. You convinced me to run the bluegrass race, which im excited about. But i just started getting into racing in november and decided to go full force since I turn 30 in just a year and a half. Set up the challenge of doing 30 half marathons by 30. How was doing 12 half marathons in one year? I have 15 on my schedule so far. Im more worried about getting burned out. Did you happen to get burned out or just keep getting PRs?
i got a little burned out training and slacked off a lot as far as that went. but i haven't gotten tired of doing races yet, i love them!! my advice it to just soak up the experience, don't take it too seriously! if you get a PR great, if not, be able to be happy knowing that you're still accomplishing something huge!
DeleteThanks so much for the advice!! I'm really hoping to do the Goofy race next year in Disney. I actually don't train as far as running goes but I do Crossfit 4-5 days a week. I'm hoping the strength training really helps. I'm excited to hear you haven't gotten tired of them. I think it's an adrenaline thing... I'm so addicted, lol. Glad to have run into your blog! Keep on running and blogging!
