Rear View Mirror: January 2012

I ran 45 miles this month. Considering I was sidelined with shingles and bronchitis for the first week and a half, I consider this to be a great big accomplishment. I didn't race any this month and I only ran outside twice.

I finished reading 2 books this month (The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest). Really enjoyed this series.

Oddly, I only saw two movies at the theater:  Haywire and One For The Money.

I got to go see my mom and have dinner with her one night and our friends from KY (Becca and Sam) got to come visit for a weekend.

I have become obsessed with some new TV shows:  Big Bang Theory and Gossip Girl.

I lost 5 pounds this month!!!

Did you read any good books this month?

  1. I love me some Gossip Girl, did you just start watching with this season or back at season 1. I posted the books I read this month on my jan recap. The best being....Promises to Keep by Jane Green, and most interesting was When She woke by Hillary Jordan

  2. congrats on the weight loss!! I haven't picked up a book OR watched any movies in way too long -- I'm soooo jealous! And I logged about half if that in your running mileage, so YOU GO GIRL!

  9. The girl I work with read both of those books and really liked them!! If I didn't have three little ones running around I think I'd get more reading done! Right now I'm trying to read The Hunger Games.

Shingles is a good excuse not to run. I ran with it two days when I didn't know what it was and I was on FIRE! It was on my leg of all places HAHAHAH!

  10. I am reading The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest right now. Love that series.

I just read Crank for our book club. It was an interesting read plus it was written like a poem. Super fast read & hard to put down.

Congrats on the miles & the weight loss!

  11. I don't think I read a single book in January, which is highly unusual for me! Great job losing 5 pounds especially considering the shingles and bronchitis at the start of the month!
